The value of the PATH approach didn’t immediately click with him. He worked through the process of creating 90-day commitments and defining SMART goals with his coach. He established deliberate practices with down to the minute detail to help him define success at a daily level. Using this approach, he mapped out his goals to help him see progress slowly forming as each week gave way to the next. Something he didn’t foresee was the motivation that would surface from these actions. As he grew closer to his goal, he had an ever-stronger desire to see it achieved.
The regular conversations with his PATH coach helped him keep focus and recharged his enthusiasm for the commitments he’d established. That work paid dividends with the passing of his PSM certification. His PATH journey didn’t stop there. He started applying the PATH approach to his everyday professional tasks. He found it helped him better execute tasks during sprints and organize his work more efficiently. PATH caused a perspective change as he found himself applying the practices in all areas of his life.
PATH continues to be a key component of his professional development. He’s currently using it to work toward Azure Fundamentals certification. The sense of achievement he’s experienced through PATH has triggered intrinsic motivation to help him practice regular visioning for the future, continually establishing new goals and driving his passion for learning.
