Senior DevOps Engineer

The Senior DevOps Engineer position is responsible for systems support, troubleshooting and fixing problems in a timely manner. Be part of a great collaborative environment with an organization that values IT.  This position is an integral part in the day-to-day operations and planning the future of infrastructure and works with teams including Developers, Information Technology Security and Business Stakeholders.

What you will be doing

•Work with teams to migrate systems and managing existing systems in Amazon Web Services Cloud. Helps develop and implement cloud strategy

•Work on scrum teams alongside developers and product owners to support new infrastructure and operational needs

•Manage a continuous improvement pipeline to fully automate deployment of the highly available, mission-critical platform that supports our product

•Develop and automate standard operating procedures around common failure scenarios

•Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test and production environments

•Design, manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes

Your Skills: 

•College degree in Computer Science or comparable experience

•At least 5-8 years working in DevOps type/similar roles (release/configuration management, etc)

• Strong background in Linux, preferably with RedHat / CentOS

•Familiar with Agile methodologies and development processes

•A solid understanding of interpreted languages such as Perl, Bash, Ruby, Python, etc.

•Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible is preferred

•Experience with a public cloud provider, ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS)

•Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, such as Oracle, Postgres and MongoDB

•Strong working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare

•Experience with monitoring applications using AppDynamics and open source tools is a plus

•Experience using CI tools like Bamboo, Jenkins and/or Teamcity is preferred

•Familiar with maintaining, deploying and troubleshooting applications written in various languages such as Ruby and Java

•Stays up-to-date on relevant technologies, understands trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best possible techniques and tools
